 Next morning, all bagels were boiled in water for 4 minutes total March 26th 2006 |
 All 24 bagels were baked at once at 500 degrees. I kept them on parchment paper because I wanted to load them in the oven quickly and because I was lazy. March 26th 2006 |
 10 minutes of baking and they all turned golden brown. We had poppy, sesame, sea salt, garlic and a mixture of the above as toppings. Half of the bagels also had vegetables snippets (veggie confettie) in them. March 26th 2006 |

April 2nd, 2006 Last year, I went to a pizza party in Spring Hill and somebody there told me about "Dirty Steak". He said: "It's simple. You take a very thick ribeye steak and throw it right on top of very hot coals. No salt, no pepper, no nothing". I was intrigued by "Dirty Steak" since that day, but not until today did I have the courage to throw $35 worth of meat right into a fire. I did a bit or research and found that Julia Child did an episode on "Dirty Steak" You can watch it here. It's quite a treat to hear Julia say "Dirty Steak" and "Hot Fanny" in the same sentence. |

 After several failed attempts, we finally were able to start (and keep alive) a sourdough starter. Not very sour yet, but very active. |
 One of the first succsesful sourdough breads. Extremely crusty and very tasty. |
